Meet the Team

Cape Town

Brian Rothman
Brian started with Sky Messaging when it first opened and started operations in 2011 when the company was founded. Brian did 90% of the foundational proving flights to ensure the operation would be safe, logically fluid (routes, altitudes, etc) which added to the simplicity and structure of the company as it stands today. After briefly leaving the company in 2013 and working as a contracted pilot for the remaining years, Brian rejoined full time in late 2022 to take over and manage the company. Brian is now the Accountable Manager, PRFO and PRA. He is passionate and believes in Sky Messaging as a team family, and is always wanting to build on the values of the company and the uplifting and upskilling of the staff.
Claudio da Sliva
Claudio has been with the company for over 5 years after obtaining his commercial license. To date he still feels it is the “best job” in the world. Claudio is being trained to assume the role of PRA and has also completed his Quality Assurance Management Certificate in 2023. Claudio is a reliable, punctual and safe pilot, he brings forward ideas and is one of the nicest, most friendly people you could ever meet.

He is an extremely important individual at the Cape Town branch and also very friendly and social, and a Friday braai is always on the cards. Don’t let the easy going Hynnes fool you, Hynnes has a high moral and integrity compass that directs him, and he speaks on issues that could be serious and often is able to give a supportive and open view to reasoning when questions or situations arise, Hynnes has also completed a Safety Management Systems course in 2023. He is a wonderful person all round, and invaluable to the team.

Freek de Villers
